Solar Decathlon

Initiated by the U.S. Department of Energy, Solar Decathlon (SD) is an award-winning program that challenges collegiate teams to design, build and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy- efficient, and attractive.

The first Solar Decathlon event was held in Washington D.C., U.S. in 2002. Since then, it has been influencing all governments of the world and obtaining support from enterprises and the public. The evidences include sponsors of more than 6,000 brand enterprises, all-out support from more than 100 governmental agencies and professional institutions, 3,000,000 visitors and 300 million media audiences.
